Pacific Surf Life Saving Club was founded in 1947. It is a small, family-orientated club that has a strong community culture and focuses on the development of all our members in all aspects of life saving and personal growth.
In late October 2016, Pacific SLSC won the title of the 2016 DHL Australian Club of the Year and QLD Youth Development Club of the Year.
Our dedicated volunteer surf lifesavers patrol the beach on weekends and public holidays from late September to May.
We also have a fantastic nipper program which runs throughout the season on a Sunday morning allowing children aged 5 to 13 to get involved in lifesaving and grow their confidence around the water.
Our club has just over 300 members and is very welcoming towards new members wanting to get involved.
Club Patron
Jeff Deegan joined Pacific in 1993 and he quickly became part of the club’s family and the club equally became part of his. He is a life member and each year he presents the ‘Jeff Deegan Spirit Award’ as encouragement to a junior member that has been consistent, assisted fellow members and improved their lifesaving skills throughout the season.
Jeff was named Patron in 2019 and will continue the proud heritage forged by Mal McNeilly MBE as our previous Patron.
